BALMEDIE, Scotland Donald Trump again mixed business and politics on the second day of his trip to Scotland, promoting his golf resorts views and dunes while comparing the process of fixing America to building an 18-hole course.
You like the backdrop? the Republican presidential candidate said Saturday at the 18th tee of a course he owns on Scotlands east coast. We started with nothing and we built one of the great masterpieces. Thats what we have do with our country. Thats what we have to do with the United States.
Mr. Trump stopped at four holes at the Trump International Golf Links, just outside the city of Aberdeen. At each stop, he held an impromptu question-and-answer session with about 60 members of the media, while Secret Service agents attempt to keep the journalists back.
During his two-day jaunt to Scotland, his first foreign trip as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Mr. Trump has focused on showing off his luxury real-estate empire. On Friday, he attended a bagpiper-serenaded ribbon cutting at his other golf resort on Scotlands west coast.
He addressed campaign issues and hailed the U.K.s vote to exit the European Union as a positive sign for his candidacy, but only after speaking about the minutia of the resorts renovations for about 15 minutes.
